Coach Kara Noftsker is originally from Vancouver, Washington right outside of Portland, Oregon. She moved to Boise in 2018, to attend Boise State University. 

Growing up she swam competitively for Vancouver Swim Club for 10 years. After heading to college, she quit swimming to pursue her college degree in Biology. However while at Boise State she became a lifeguard and swim instructor and worked there for 2 years. Alongside her job as a lifeguard and instructor she also re-organized the Boise State Swim Club.

After graduating high school she worked at Saint Alphonsus, but since then she has become a registered behavioral technician working with kids with disabilities. Kara is currently beginning her Masters degree in Genetic counseling at Boise State following her Biology degree. 

When not working, she can be found up at bogus basin skiing in the winter, swimming, or floating the river.
