Travis Noble.


Head Coach

Biography:

Coach Noble will be entering his 7th season (83-62 overall record at TLINE) as the Head Coach of the Wolves and has been in coaching for 15 years.  His teams have been competitive each year with the focus remaining on the defensive end.  Often times the Wolves are one of the top defensive teams in the SIC.  In the 19-20 season his team made a run to the state tournament. In the 2021-22 season the Wolves finished 2nd in DPPG in the SIC and in 2022-23 season the Wolves finished first in DPPG only allowing 46.5 PPG.  They have been Academic State Champions 4 out of the 6 years Coach Noble has been here.  The Wolves went undefeated at home (8-0) in the 22-23 season.  In the 23-24 season his team finished 22-5, played in the district championship, and finished 2nd at the state tournament.

Coach Noble was an outstanding high school basketball player in the State of Idaho who went on to play college basketball at Walla Walla Community College.  As a player at WWCC he was a 1st team Eastern Region Selection and led his team to an East Region Title.  After his 2 years at WWCC  he transferred to Montana State University-Northern (NAIA).  As a player at MSU-N he was a two-time All-Conference selection, Academic All-Conference selection, Conference Champion in 2008, Champion-of-Character Award winner, MSUN Excellence Award winner, and the MSUN Athlete of the Year in 2009. 

Coach Noble served as Assistant Coach at both colleges (3 years at MSU-N, 1 year at WWCC).  As an assistant at Northern they won 2 conference championships (2011, 2012) and made trips to the NAIA National Tournament in both those years.  While at WWCC as an assistant they were named Eastern Region Champs with a 23-8 record and made a run to the Elite 8 in the NWAC Tournament.

He began his high school varsity head coaching career at Oakley High School where he helped the boys basketball team win back-to-back District Championships, obtained a record of 83-36, had a 3rd place finish at state (2016), and was named the 2015 Coach of the Year.

Varsity Assistant

Biography:

Coach Anderson graduated from The Dalles High School in Oregon where he was a three year letter-man in basketball and football.  He earned all-conference and all-state honors as a football player, and conference honors as a basketball player his senior year.  Coach A. was fortunate to play basketball for and learn from one of the top 50 most successful basketball coaches in Oregon history, Coach Dan Wheatley.  After high school, he attended Eastern Oregon University where he was a 4 year letterman on the football team, and earned all-conference honors his junior and senior year as a tight-end.  Coach Anderson has always had a passion for coaching the game of basketball and working with young men to help them build the skills needed to be successful in life.  Coach A. has been coaching boys basketball for the past 10 years, and has been a Varsity Assistant under Travis Noble for the last 4 seasons at Timberline High.

David Rickard.


Varsity Assistant

Biography:

 As a Boise High School graduate, Coach played under Coaches Cox, Thornsberry, and Larsen and is an alumnus of the University of Idaho.

Coach Rickard helps build the program with the younger players while also assisting the varsity.  He is entering his 6th season with the Wolves and has spent the last 2 years as the Sophomore Coach.  Accumulating a record of 41-6, finishing in 3rd place in the 2022-23 season and winning the Sophomore SIC regular season and postseason tournament in 2023-24. Coach Rickard was selected as the SIC Sophomore Coach of the Year in 23-24.

Alan Thornsberry.


Varsity Assistant

Biography:

Coach Alan Thornsberry will be rejoining the Timberline Boys’ Basketball program for the 2021-22 season.  He coached Timberline boys basketball for 16 years.  Thornsberry’s coaching career started at Boise High School in 1989; after that, he went to East Jr. High and Les Bois Jr. High.  He eventually helped to open Timberline and start the basketball program there in 1998.  During his 23½  years at Timberline, Coach Thornsberry has served as an Athletic Director and head coach for Boys’ Basketball, Golf and Cross Country.  “I am really looking forward to the opportunity to be back in the gym with the players and coaches at Timberline.  I am excited and feel fortunate to be able to help build the program led by Coach Noble,”  said Thornsberry.  Coach Thornsberry will be entering his 2nd year under Coach Noble.
