Biography:
Ali Leonard was born and raised in Gresham, Oregon, where she attended Gresham High School. Go Gophers! Ali competed and placed in the Top 10 at the OSAA State level in both 100m and 300m hurdles as well as the 4x100 and 4x400 relays all four years. Ali won Athlete of the Year in her senior year.
Ali attended Western Oregon University on both athletic and academic scholarship. Her success as a hurdler accelerated her collegiate track and field career in the Heptathlon. Ali graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science and achieving Cum Laude and Dean’s List Honors. After graduation, Ali moved back to Portland to play semi pro soccer for Portland Rain (now Portland Thorns) for 3 seasons. She also began coaching high school soccer and track at Gresham High School for the next 4 years. Ali has developed numerous athletes who have continued their track and field careers at the Division 1 and 2 levels.
Ali lives in southeast Boise and is married to an active-duty air force pilot. When Ali is not coaching, she is working as a regional sales manager for a multi-state distributor, selling real estate, and enjoying all outdoor activities with their yellow lab, Riggins. Ali is beginning her 9th season of coaching track and field and has been the head sprint coach at Timberline High School since 2021. Go Wolves!
