Emily Mathis.


Boys & Girls Head Swim Coach

Biography:

Emily Mathis has been hired as the new Varsity Swimming Head Coach at Timberline High School. Emily is from Santa Maria, California where she swam for Orcutt Academy High School and the Santa Maria Swim Club. Emily then went on to swim for Boise State University for all 4 years, where she holds the school-record in the 200 yard breaststroke. Her previous coaching experience includes assistant coaching for Timberline High School the past 3 years and the Santa Maria Swim Club in California. After graduating from Boise State in 2018 with her elementary education teaching credential, Emily went on to teach in the Boise School District. Emily is currently furthering her education by getting her Masters in Educational Leadership. Emily is very thrilled for the opportunity to lead the Timberline Swim Team

Nicole Funkhouser.


Girls & Boys Assistant Swim Coach

Biography:

Nicole Funkhouser recently stepped down as the Head Swim Coach so that she could spend more time with family, but she will remain involved as the assistant coach.  She held a North Texas record with her teammates in the 200 yard freestyle relay in 2011. Nicole went on to swim for New Mexico State University in Las Cruces, New Mexico for three years as a distance freestyler. Her previous coaching experience includes assistant coaching for the Cooper Swim Team in McKinney, Texas. After graduating with her psychology degree in 2016, Nicole furthered her education and received her teaching license for the state of Idaho with plans to teach in the Boise School District.
