The Wolves opened the State Tournament on Thursday against the Madison Bobcats at Coeur d'Alene High School.  The field was wet and soggy and the rain kept coming down throughout the match.

In the 39', just before halftime, Jadyn Baumgartner sent a chip shot over the GK's head to give the Wolves the lead they would never relinquish.  Timberline continued to dominate the second half of play, controlling the ball throughout.  In the 55' Madison Carter sent a ball into the goal to give the Wolves a 2-0 lead.  2 more goals secured the victory for Timberline...Hannah Calvin in the 65' and Aidan Borders in the 76'.  

The Wolves play in the Semifinals at 2:00 on Friday at Lake City High School against Rocky Mountain.

FRIDAY:

Timberline battled Rocky Mountain in the semifinals of the State Tournament at Lake City today.   The girls controlled the ball and had multiple shots on goal all afternoon, but none of them found the back of the net.  Rocky scored in the first half and held on for the 1-0 victory.  

With :46 to play, Timberline was fouled in the box and awarded a PK shot.  The shot sailed to the right and preserved the Rocky victory.

Timberline will play Centennial on Saturday at Lake City at 12:30.  Winner claims the 3rd place trophy.  

SATURDAY:

In the 3rd place trophy game, THS locked up with the Centennial Patriots to a 0-0 tie after regulation.  Play continued through 2 additional 10:00 overtimes with the score still knotted up at zero.  Both teams appeared to be exhausted.  Belnap had a number of critical saves to keep the teams hope of bringing home a trophy alive.  

In the PK's, Timberline prevailed 6-5 to claim the 3rd place trophy and end the season with a win.  Timberline finished the year with a 13-3-3 record.  Congratulations ladies!
