Tryouts 2025-2026

Updated on 04/21/2025

Welcome!

We are so excited that you are considering being a part of the Timberline cheer team. Choosing to be a Timberline Cheerleader is one of the best decisions you can make. However, when considering, please read the following information so you can decide if this is something you can do prior to trying out.

Cheer, jumps, dance choreography will be taught the first two nights of tryouts. Athletes will be judged on those skills on the evening of May 16th. Please refer to the tryout information below for details on attire for tryouts, time, etc.

Once the 2025-2026 teams are announced, we will start to practice May 19th. Attendance is very important. During practices, you will learn cheers, stunts, choreography to be prepared for all sporting events and the pre-competition season. During the 2025-2026 season, you can expect to be practicing and/or cheering at games 3-4 nights a week. THS cheerleaders will cheer for football, boys’ and girls’ basketball and spend time preparing for the competition season.

Cheerleading is a year-round sport. Being a part of the THS cheer program will take a substantial amount of time. Cheerleaders cannot miss practices. Each cheerleader will be given 5 personal days for the entire season. Appointments, jobs, and vacations must be worked around the cheer schedule.

Participating in cheerleader is also a financial commitment   We are still planning the season  a final dollar amount will be shared on May 7th at the parent meeting. A $600 payment will be due at the post-tryout meeting. Please reach out to Coach Leslie about expenses. We believe that money should never be a reason athlete cannot participate in our program.

Each cheerleader will be required to participate in all fundraising and recruiting of sponsorships. Parent participation will also be necessary to facilitate fundraising events throughout the summer and school year.

If you make the team this year, these requirements, and many more, will be expected of you.  If you decide this is something for you, GO ALL IN!! Practice hard and stick with it. We will be here to help with the rest! We believe the athletes at THS have what it takes to maintain a cheer program of excellence!!
